PRIMMY'S CORNER (Birthday trends in Dublin)

Lately I have noticed that when Nigerian parents especially here in Dublin says I am inviting you to my child's birthday party what they really mean is they are inviting you to their party.  They spend so much money organizing the party, then the next thing you hear is I HAVE ASO EBI FOR SALE  like seriously aso ebi for a child's birthday party.
It's so amazing when you get to the party the mother of the celebrant has a makeup artist on hand, they change their outfit two to four times before the party ends and the birthday girl or boy has on just one or two outfit throughout the duration of the party, why the child has about 20 to 30 friends the parents have about 50 to 100 guest (this is so crazy), sometimes they have two parties in one day one during the day and another at night, Oh please people it is called children's party not an owambe party, a day when a child celebrate and have fun with friends and close family members to thank God for adding another year to their life not a day for parents to show off their new clothes to friends.
At the end of the day the child is just like any other guest at his or her party, this trend is quite worrisome and   I pray it dies a natural death like the very scary surprise baby showers(I say scary because a lot of women almost went into premature labor), gosh thank God that era is over.
